Telecom major Vodafone launched a new 3G Android smartphone – Android 2.2 operating system based 3G handset ‘Vodafone Smart’ in the country for Rs 4995. Essentially a re-branded Huawei U8160 for Vodafone, this budget-friendly Android 2.2 Froyo powered smartphone should suffice most people who want to get their feet wet with the open platform. The Smartphone comes in 2 colors Black and White.

Powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S1 MHz processor and Android 2.2.1 OS, the handset is designed for tech-savvy customers providing them access to mobile apps, games, internet and social networking platforms on-the-go, Vodafone said in a statement.

It will initially launch in black and white color versions, but others will be available afterward and users will even be able to personalize their phone with custom graphic designs. This Handset is basically targeted towards youth. Anyone interested in getting one.
